The Dead Sea

The Dead Sea, which is in fact a large lake, is over 400 meters below sea level making it the lowest point on the planet. It’s known for its extremely salty water which can’t sustain life, but is full of minerals which have been found to be beneficial for their therapeutic and cosmetic properties. Visitors flock here each year to bathe in the waters, and mud, as well as enjoy pampering treatments in the many luxury spa hotels which have sprung up in the area.
